    The quote at the bottom of this page -- about asexual couples at the center of corrupt or impotent groups -- I've remembered this for 30 years & had several discussions about it, and everyone always agrees! Lessing's narrators have so much authority, and philosophy as others have said. I don't know if it's true ... I've often wondered looking at certain couples who are in politics or other positions of power. Didn't Reich & Freud talk about the dangers of repressing sexual energy, etc.? and in the symbology of myths, the kingdom always withers if the king is unable to procreate. Our culture still believes this on some level, as in how much emphasis the US now places on candidates' sexual images, and what that represents to us.
