    The mention of the Rosenbergs made me think of Sylvia Plath again. The Bell Jar opens with the narrator's reaction to the Rosenberg's execution.

    So much of Lessing's portrait/critique of the CP could be applied to any political group in any moment in time, I think. The power struggles, ideology, meetings, reading, fervor to change the world... I've seen the same thing in various committees & campaigns.
